Kelsie Acton, Anastasia Maywood and Nicole Perry have danced and choreographed for each other in Edmonton for the past 6 years. Acton holds both a BA (Honors) Drama degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton) and a MA in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph (Guelph). Maywood holds both a BA (Honors) Drama degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton) and a MFA in Choreography and Dance Dramaturgy from York University (Toronto). Perry holds both a BA degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton) and a MA in Psychology from Yorkville University (Fredericton).
Their cumulative performance styles and experience include contemporary dance, theatre, performance-based clown, jazz, martial arts and stunting. They have trained and worked with a variety of Canadian dancers and choreographers, including Tony Olivares, Kathy Ochoa, Helen Husak, Cori Caulfield, David Flewelling, Karen K’aeja, Dance Theatre David Earle and the Toronto Dance Community Love-In.
Together and individually, Acton, Maywood and Perry have presented work with the Orchesis Dance Group, the Expanse Festival, iDANCE, KO Dance Projects, the Good Woman Dance Group, the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, The Edmonton Show, the no/w/here project (Artistic Director Kelsie Acton), Nextfest and Mind the Gap Collective.
